The balance sheet of the company serves as a snapshot of its assets, liabilities, and
owners’ equity for a particular point of time (Quiry, Fur, Salvi, Dallocchio, & Vernimmen,
2011). The understanding of the financial position of a company requires reviewing the assets,
liabilities, and owners’ equity of it (Vernimmen & Quiry, 2009). This paper aims at reviewing
the balance sheet and understanding the financial position of Ford Motor Company.

Total assets of Ford Motor has been increased in 2017 by 8.35% (from USD 237951
million to USD 257808 million). The total assets of Ford Motor is mainly composed of current
assets and long-term assets. Total current assets of the Ford Motor consists of cash, inventories,
and other current assets. The majority portion of the current assets of the company is accounts
receivables (54.19%). In 2017, total receivables of the company has been increased by USD
5441 million. This is a weakness of the company as cash tied up in the receivable has been
