Introduction
Psychology is a field of medicine that deals with the mind and the behaviour of human
beings. It involves the study of human thoughts, whether in the conscious or unconscious mind
setting. Psychology in its broad spectrum handles issues to do with behaviour and mind such as
the unipolar major depression, which is a social problem where an individual constantly feels
sad and lacks interest in the outside world. At the same time, psychology deals with the bipolar
disorder which is a brain disorder and affects the way a person’s mood swings shift unusually.
The bipolar disorder also causes unusual shifts and changes in a patient’s or victim’s energy,
activity levels and their ability to carry out daily routine duties and tasks. The anti-depressant
article critique seeks to outline the areas and issues that the article would have tackled but failed
to regarding the mood-switching and the transition from unipolar major depression to bipolar
disorder.
