The supply chain involves small-scale sugarcane farmers and their operation with other
parties in the supply chain. Thus, it shows the different relations between all the stakeholders for
the small-scale sugarcane producers. Creation of union between the small sugarcane farmers
with the millers and the government is vital in benefiting the farmers. By registering the selected
farmers, in a union, it can be easy to educate them on the modern mode of sugarcane farming
which they should adopt. These farmers can create an administration system which can help in
fighting for their rights regarding sugarcane production.
2. Describe the constraints that smallholder’s farmers and other actors face in the
value chain that your chosen
The producer or sugarcane or the farmers are faced with different challenges. The first
one is the issue of soil erosion in the country. Many farmers do not have an idea on how to
control soil erosion which has affected the productivity of their land. This has limited the ability
of the farmers to produce even more. Water wastage is the other factor which smallholder of
farm who produce sugarcanes are faced with. The old method of archaic irrigation system is still
in practice today in Pakistan and it lead to high wastage of water. This old method of irrigation
lead to wastage of 50 to 60 percent of the water meaning that sugarcane farmers to not maximize
the use of water. The introduction of drip irrigation is taking place in different parts of the
country but still the small sugarcane farmers cannot afford it. The other issue affecting farmers in
the use of old methods of cultivating. This means the country has low yield per acre and the
