Discussion: ARTISTIC HAIKU POEM
Discussion: ARTISTIC HAIKU POEMNo unread replies. No replies.Visual art communicates to us. Think about putting the communication experience of looking at an artwork into poetic words. To keep all of your poems short, sweet, and standardized, we will use the format of the Japanese Haiku. Find Your Artwork:Find the piece of art that is to inspire your poem. You can opt to use an artwork from your textbook. If you choose this route, any chapter, including those not covered in this course (such as the chapters on African or Asian art) is fine. You can also choose to find the artwork in public spaces or museums. Either way, you will have to attach the image of your chosen artwork to your thread.Create your Haiku:A haiku uses just a few words to capture a moment and create a picture in the reader's mind. It is like a tiny window into a scene much larger than itself. Traditionally, haiku is written in three lines, with five syllables in the first line, seven syllables in the second line, and five syllables in the third line. Line 1 = 5 syllablesLine 2 = 7 SyllablesLine 3 = 5 SyllablesSample Haiku:The last winter leavesClinging to the black branchesExplode into birds.*Sample above and instructions taken from creative-writing-now.comMore samples are available in the Sample Discussion folder.Instructions:Your Discussion Board experience will come in three parts:Part 1: Find a piece of art that will inspire your poem. Attach the photo to your thread. Avoid using huge file sizes, they may not upload into Canvas.Part 2: Post your Haiku. Be sure to be descriptive. If you see the opportunity to implement the Visual Toolbox and Principles of Design you may do so. Make sure that the poem that you post is your very own. Be sure to tell us the name of the artist and the title of the artwork below or besides the attached image.Part 3: Respond to a minimum of two other student Posts.Points will be distributed in this manner: Your initial Post can earn you up to 10 points, and each response is worth up to 5 points max. Maximum points is 20. Extraordinary posts and responses will be rewarded with extra points, making totals larger than 20, but no more than 24 points. Poor spelling and grammar will result in the loss of points.*The purpose of this exercise is to promote critical thinking. Be sure to provide detailed and supportive answers. One word answers like "cool, awesome, lol" are not sufficient. You will be graded on the quality of your posts and responses. Failure to respond to at least 2 posts will cost you points. Be mindful and polite to one another, and more importantly, be creative and have fun.

Module 03 Written Assignment - Drinking and Contract Formation Do Not Mix!
Read the following case studies and answer the questions. Be sure to
use the appropriate legal terminology that you learned this week.Case Study 1Steve and Bill go out drinking. After Steve has had so many drinks
that Bill knows (or should know) that Steve is very intoxicated, Steve
says to Bill, "I'll sell you my house for $100,000." Bill accepts. The
fair market value of Steve's house is $100,000. Will Steve be able to
avoid this transaction? Why or why not?Case Study 2
Steve writes a letter to Bill one day saying, "I will sell you my
house for $100,000." Completely unbeknownst to Bill, at the time Steve
wrote the letter he was utterly intoxicated. The fair market value for
the house is $100,000. Will Steve have to sell his house to Bill? Why or
why not?Case Study 3Mary, a longtime law professor, has been entering into quite a few
contracts in recent months. One of those contracts was for the purchase
of a riding lawn mower. Unbeknownst to the sales clerk who entered Mary
into the contract, Mary is suffering from Alzheimer's, but has not been
deemed incompetent by the state. On the day of delivery, the sales clerk
delivers the lawn mower to Mary's apartment. Mary is surprised by the
delivery of the mower and has no recollection of ordering it. The clerk
shows her the contract. Is this contract voidable and why?
