The objective of this study is to determine the cause, frequency and effects of smoking
among teenagers. The information that will be collected from this study will help fight the
problem of smoking among teens. Also, it will help teens develop self-esteem and increase
awareness of self. Teens can be educated on the detrimental impacts of smoking from this article.
The reference materials are selected from recent articles on teen smoking globally.

journal also goes over the reality concerning how some cigarette advertisements target teenagers,
as well as, the corporate view the magnificent tobacco companies have on cigarette smoking in
children. The journal goes on and says that what the tobacco companies are doing in this county
they are doing it everywhere and do not have a concern with it. This journal has many hard facts
for teens to go through and it will be of great help to them.

This journal went over the social difficulties some teens might encounter when they are
faced with the question of whether to start smoking or not. It examines some scenarios where

tough situation. The journal goes over how some of them might think it is good to smoke due to
peer influence and going by what they see on television or in movies from some of their best

actresses or actors. It also gives the steps to help prevent teens from smoking and interacting
with teens who are already smokers.

parents ensure their kids stay smoke-free. Some of the listed ways include being a good example
for the kid to follow, understand why kids start smoking, take any addiction seriously, and expect
peer influence from friends. This magazine is very important for parents since it has a list of 10
different things that parents should do too and it explains them in detail. Besides, it has ways that
parents should not have thought before prevent their kids from smoking.

This is research is health research, and it explains the dangers of kids becoming addictive
to smoking. The researchers say that smoking has many short-term and long-term effects on
smokers and the best way to prevent kids from being addictive to smoking is staying away from
tobacco and should never begin using it. The research tells teens the problems they are supposed
to care about alongside health concerns such as smoking leads to bad smelling of clothes and bad
breath. The research recommendations are helpful to both teen smokers and those that have not
started.

This book explains the link between depression and smoking among teens. It argues that people
believed that teens start smoking due to depression; however, new studies indicate the opposite
and that in some cases a depression in teens is caused by smoking. It also states that teens do not
listen to the long-term effects of smoking, but if the teens are told the instant dangerous impacts,
it has a greater effect.
Research Problem
Tobacco smoking has been linked with several health problems to a life of the user.
According to Buthelezi and Reddi (2014) smoking the greatest risk factor for lung cancer. In the
recent past, teen smoking has become very prevalent. Many types of research have been
conducted to establish the cause of tobacco among the adults. However, the researchers seem not
to address the issue of tobacco smoking among the teens.
This research aims at addressing the causes, frequency and effects of smoking among the
teens. The research will be seeking the main factors that attract teens to smoking. It will
determine the frequency of smoking among teens in different situations. The research will
examine the effects of smoking on the health, social life and physical growth among teens. The
recommendations of this research will be used to mitigate teen smoking.
