ETHICAL ISSUES AND PROBLEMS

Introduction

Ethics are the morals that guide a person’s behavior. In companies, people are expected to
have good morals. Every profession has its codes of ethics. These are those behaviors that every
employee be it the boss or junior employees are supposed to possess. These mostly help the smooth
running of an organization. When everyone in organization behaves well, dresses decently attends
to clients in a polite way, among others the company gets recognized by the people being served
there as a good serving organization. Also, the ethics apply internally too. According to Shinde
(2016), this is where the employees are supposed to arrive early at work, limit unnecessary work
off duties, talk to each other well without conflicts among others.
Employee to employee relationship is an important factor in any particular organization.
This is the basis of a well-performing company. If employees fail to relate to each other in good
terms the company’s activities usually comes to a halt. Teamwork is what keeps many
organizations going. If a company suffers from internal disputes, then the external activities that
are expected to be conducted by them will fail. Employer to employee relationship is also expected
to be smooth and fine. This is brought about by the employee respecting the employer and the
employer respecting the employee. These values are very important for every organization (Ferrell
& Fraedrich, 2015). Most of the time it is argued that no single person is perfect. Many are the
times that we find the company ethics and codes being broken. Employers and employees all
sometimes go against them corrupting the whole smooth running in the company. These mostly
are brought about by the ethical issues or ethical problems. Ethical issues can be brought willingly
or unwillingly. Employees or employers might find themselves in any of the situations and bring
major effects to their profession and also to the company or organization.

Problem Description and Statement
There are a lot of ethical problems that affect industries and organizations. In our case
study, our ethical problem is the issue of mismanagement of the company’s resources. In my
industry both the employer and employee mismanage the company’s resources in many ways. The
company resources are only supposed to be used for the betterment of the company and not that
of individual success.
Mismanagement by the Employer
Many are the scenarios that you find the top management taking advantage of their power
to exploit the company assets to their advantage. Here we find that the managers use the company’s
vehicles to travel to non-organizational functions. The fueling of those vehicles is done by the
company for the company. Leaving one's car and taking the company’s car to satisfy one's needs
is not ethical behavior. The trucks that belong to the company are also mismanaged by the top
