Type of Training before Departure
The international assignment is a stepwise process that takes place before the assignee
arrives in the host country. The cross-cultural training of expatriates is the most efficient before
their departure. This type of training will facilitate growth and adjustment to the new culture.
The importance of cross-culture training method is to help employees get used to the conditions
in the host country and the strengthening the capabilities of understanding and appreciating the
different cultural perspectives. The design of the cross-cultural training program should aim at
achieving specific objectives such as the management of change regarding the personal and
professional transformation, managing cultural differences, and enhancement of the
responsibilities in different cultural settings (Abdullah & Jin, 2015). Different authors show that
expatriate skills are highly demanding hence the use of various approaches to integrate them into
