Introduction

The Business Impact Analysis is one of the primary concepts integrated into most
successful organizations. It is a critical tool utilized when developing a business continuity plan.
A business impact analysis (BIA) provides a platform for the successful development and
implementation of a business continuity plan (BCP). By quantifying and identifying enterprise
related impacts, a BIA can gather enough information during interruptions, disruption of
processes and losses within the firm, (Atuahene‐Gima, 2015). It also serves to explain the
importance of different operations within the company. By obtaining sufficient information, the
company can recover data, processes, and procedures under adverse conditions and
circumstances.
The methods for establishing component priorities
There are numerous ways of setting component priorities. One approach is to create a
business impact analysis team. The team is tasked with conducting meetings to discuss the
impacts of the vital operations in the organization. By holding regular meetings, the critical
processes can be evenly distributed across all departments. From here the BIA team can see and
