The social contract is the belief that the reason for the existence of the state is to serve the
peoples’ will because they are the source of all political powers the state enjoys. The social
contract was created thousands of years back to ensure social order through surrendering certain
liberties. The rule of government has different view according to political philosophers. The
social contract is entered when the government is responsible for human rights according to John
Locke in the sixteenth century. People gain security when being subjected to the sovereign ruler.
John Locker belief social contract in the United States government occurs when government
supplies basic right. Property, liberty, and life right are also inclusive (Greenstone, 1986). The
majority rule and power separation are included in the social contract in the United States.

power. Moreover, the existence of the limitless power of the federal induces corruption hence the
need to limit the federal power. The government is barred from becoming too elite and powerful
