Race and ethnicity in America
Question One
Race and ethnicity are two factors that contribute to the way in which people see the
world. However, in America, race and ethnicity were the primary causes of inequality in the way
in which people lived with each other. Also, the two factors had an impact on the citizenship of
an individual. America is formed by some different groups from various parts of the world.
However, each of the regions where people live is identified with the race living there (Jarecki,
2011). For instance, the African Americans and the Latin Americans live in different regions and
cities. Most of the African Americans for example only became citizens after the abolishment of
the slave trade which had taken them to America. Despite the citizenship acquired by the various
groups, race and ethnicity have become contributing factors to the disparities that affect people
in the country.
Citizenship explains the general history of race and ethnic relations in America.
