Abstract
At-risk teens are the individuals who are less likely to change successfully into
adulthood. For the young individuals, the time between 12 to 25 years is a crucial period during
which they face significant mental, emotional and physical changes. However, most young
individuals overcome the transition from childhood passing adolescent towards the adulthood
successfully. Some factors like poverty and juvenile delinquency are the significant predictors
for the young being considered to be at risk. Basing on debt as a factor, the children from the
low-income backgrounds are less likely to change successfully into adulthood. The household
income is considered to affect the youth outcomes dramatically.
The recognition of the type of intervention to be administered towards the youths enables
the professionals to strategize, implement and analyze the interventions’ effectiveness required
by the youths within their risk stages. Through moderations of the competencies as well as the
personal abilities of the young individuals in the form of communication together with the
planning skills, the at-risk teens can meet their objectives. The individuals who successfully meet
their goals become happier, healthier and more effective regarding personal duties, within the
organization as well as when managing the adolescent-adulthood transformation. Human service
professionals perform their roles of helping the at-risk teens through direct service, planning, and
implementation of the youth’s policy as well as within the social setting.
