The job entailed performing basic engineering support to evaluate the existing and
proposed infrastructure associated with non-ride related theme park and back of house facilities.
The certification needed for this job is a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. Additionally, the
applicant may have an added advantage if he presents the Professional Engineer license.
The job requires the applicant to have 3-5 years of experience in project engineering with
at least 1 year of experience in project management in an engineering environment pertaining to
the development of civil and building infrastructure.
Among the skills that the job requires are the analytical skills, proficiency in developing
and tracking project schedules and budgets, knowledge in ASME, ASTM, NEC, and ANSI
standards. Furthermore, the applicant should be skilled in reading and interpreting engineering
plans and specifications and also be proficient in using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
This position is interesting to me since it provides a platform on which the knowledge
learnt in class can be put into practice. Additionally, it acts as a gauge that I can use to measure
my current qualifications and those needed in the job market. This way, proper adjustments in
terms of professional developments can be made.
