Gender discrimination in the workplace and media has become a controversial issue. In
the workplace, the aspect of gender inequality is common in the human resource practices.
Ideally, this is because the practices of human resources impact on the training, promotion and
hiring processes. Research studies have evidenced that discrimination in the workplace affects
the earnings and opportunities of the women (Alteri, 2016).Despite the fact that women have
made efforts to occupy high ranking positions in the workplace, it is imperative to observe that
the problem of gender inequality persists especially in the sector of income. Women earn less
money as compared to their male counterparts. Additionally, most of the leadership positions in
the workplace are occupied by the males. This postulation gives an implication that the females
are stereotyped and are not given full opportunity to explore their talents.
The aspect of gender inequality is also represented in the media facets. The United States
is among the countries that experience the problem of gender inequality. In Latin America, only
29% women are employed as media presenters (Alteri, 2016). A large percentage of the women
