Introduction

pertaining to the topic under review. However, there exists limited guidance on how to write an
integrative literature review (Birkrant & Carlsen, 2007). The study demonstrates how to put
together in writing an integrative literature review by analyzing for different domains with the
field of psychology. Different resources that extensively cover different aspects of the domains
will be evaluated to ascertain their reliability, validity, and generalizability to the study.
Psychiatry
It is a subgroup of medicine that handles mental disorders, exercised by medical
practitioners who at times issue medicinal as well as mental therapy (Birkrant & Carlsen, 2007).
The field is committed to the conducted diagnosis, instituting preventive measures, conducting
studies, and treatment of mental problems. The disorders encompass numerous maladaptations
pertaining to mood, character, cognition, as well as perception. On an initial psychiatric
evaluation, an individual’s case is assessed historically then followed by a mental status

Studies analyzing the domain of psychiatry embrace reliability by making sure that the

2001). For example, studies have outlined the current diagnosis procedures that psychiatrists
embrace in their line of duty (Bourke et al. 2008). Being doctors, psychiatrists are allowed to

may be referred to as talk therapy involves developing a dialogue relationship between the
patient and the therapist. The process may also be applicable to other psychological disorders
