Description

One of the Documents is a template where you are expected to do thorough research on the subject question and answer in the given field.

Fill in the 'Blanks.' This assignment my be difficult to understand the Scenario. I say that because it is difficult for me to understand it, as well. The Scenario needs to be read over, and over several times even before researching. The answers need to be very, very, specific and not from sources that are more than a few years old, as per the Instructor. Topology, Security, Business, Updates, downtime, proper Staff training, etc. all need to be explained in detail. 1500 - 1700 words, APA, citations, NO ABSTRACT for this one. Just leave it blank. Let me know if you have any questions.

PLEASE PLEASE BE THOROUGH ON YOUR RESEARCH

Principles of Information Systems (ITCO610-1801D-01) IP 2 Assignment Description You work at a high school as a teacher delivering courses for building computer skills. In addition, you help to support the computing needs of the high school working with the one IT person who recently accepted a job at a different school. The high school is in the process of hiring a new IT person. The timing could not have been worse as the high school is involved in a big project to improve their information systems and technology. You were asked to join a discussion between the high school administration and information system vendors on the information and technology needs at the high school based upon your background, education, and experience. In preparation for the upcoming meeting, you received an e-mail from the principal with questions about the project: • • • • • Why should we have separate databases and a data warehouse? Why don't we just have one large database for all our data, both current and historical? How would we use a data warehouse, and how would it help this high school? Are there other information systems we should consider? How would a mobile wireless network impact the educational process here? In a 1,500–1,750-word e-mail response, provide detailed answers to their questions including a recommendation for the high school's technology plan. Make sure your paper is written in the APA style and fully supports your opinion and arguments you make. Cite any sources you used to support your argument. Please submit your assignment. IP 2 ASSIGNMENT
Abstract
Databases are used for data storage but it stores current data with recommendation of
backing up historical and old data. Data warehouse is very different from databases since it is a
very specific application that stores large amount of data. With the availability of the data
warehouse, we are able to store data from our time memorial hence data cannot be misplaced.
Data warehouses also is very essential in data and information analysis and in decision support
system in institutions.
The use of mobile wireless network in educational processes is also very essential
especial to students.

INTRODUCTION
Databases and data ware housing in typical sense might be assumed to be the same. But
they both have very crucial differences in Technology, architecture and also usage patterns.
A database in its simple meaning it is an information repository which is used to back up
data for a particular application or rather a bunch of applications ,Dukler(2010). Databases are
normally structured though this structural is not the definitive technical need.
Data warehouse is a specific type of database that relies on a very particular application,
this type of database is used to store, filter, retrieve and also analyze very large volumes of data
or rather information which simply means processed data. This important application so called
data ware house imposes a very different set of constraints, it also causes a completely different
usage pattern and architecture.

Why Should We Have Separate Databases and a Data Warehouse?
According to ramah(2007),Databases are normally used in situations that’s needs to
access and update data or information online, with multiple concurrent and real time access. For
the database to be used, security is required and also consistency of data.
Data warehouses are normally larger that the databases where data is derived. But
databases also stores data which is currently in active use since...
