The writings is from the Book ONLY YESTERDAY. Chapters 1-5 and 10- 14. Questions:

1) Discuss the "forces" that spurred the revolution in manners and in morals in the 1920s. (2) Explain the "bankers pool": why it was formed, its members, its purpose, its accomplishments.

As the story starts, there are some of the characters used to show the expected manners
and morals back then. The main characters in the story are Mr. and Mrs. Smith who are a couple
and are used to portray the characters of the old people. According to the writer of this story, the
people of the 1919s lived a different life unlike the people of today. For women, they usually
dressed in dresses, and most of the times, they are seen wearing stockings. Also, women were
supposed to carry out all the house chores. As for the hair, women used to keep long hair. They
were also submissive to men, and it was like they were created to serve men as they could do
almost everything for them preparing meals being the most important activity for every woman.
Men, on the other hand, were just leaders and could supervise the house chores as women do
them. During this historic period, it was also noticed that men loved games and that has stood to
be a fact even today. However, as the time passes by, there are so many things...
