1. What is the purpose of each work?
The Ecstasy of St. Teresa is a Baroque sculpture which was carved by Gianlorenzo
Bernini in 1598-1680. The purpose of this sculpture was to signify the counter-reformation of the
baroque sculptures (Bernini, 2011). It was also designed to convey the spirituality of the
Catholics through St. Teresa who was a Spanish nun. The other purpose of this sculpture is that it
was designed to convey the mystic experiences that St. Theresa went through in her ecstasy with
God. St. Teresa's experience was identified as the bridal mysticism.
On the other hand, the Guggenheim Museum was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and it
was established in 1937. The museum is located in Manhattan New York. The purpose of this
