Reaching Audiences with Specific Channels
An organization may use different channels to reach its varied target audience. An
organization must clearly and accurately pass information to its various stakeholders in order to
achieve the desired effect of that piece of information. The choice of a channel to use is
dependent on a myriad of factors such as costs, the organization’s preference and the nature of
the target audience. An organization may decide to use mass media platforms, such as
advertisements, to promote or create awareness on a particular issue or product. The specific
channel used to reach different audiences may either be in audio or visual form (Locker &
Kienzler, 2014).
In particular, if an organization wants to target and reach the parents of autistic parents
the organization may decide to use a medical journal or magazine. The static media message or
advertisement, when published in a medical journal, has the capability of reaching parents who
read medical journals and research about the medical condition of their children. The scope of
this specific approach is limited in scope to the general public but may have a wider scope of
reach in special cases. Parents with autistic children are more likely to be acquainted with autism
and keep themselves updated with new pieces of information about autism hence more likely to
read medical journals and reports.
As regards ballroom dancers, an organization may decide to strategically put notices or
media messages in different theatres in the city. The notices may be pinned on notice boards,
printed into flyers handed directly to the ballroom dancers among other approaches. This specific
approach of reaching to the ballroom dancers targets the places where there are high numbers of
ballroom dancers hence theaters are an ideal choice. This approach has the ability to reach to

most ballroom dancers who go to the theatre. On the other hand, an organization that wants to
target non-traditional college students should consider using social media and websites to pass
their intended message. Social media and websites use are common among non-traditional
college students hence the message will reach numerous students (Chu, 2011).
An organization can reach the parents whose children play basketball by the company
representatives attending basketball matches and practice sessions. It is highly likely that these
parents will be attending matches and practice sessions to monitor their children's progress and
cheer them on. The disadvantage of this approach is that the intended product, service or
program will only reach those parents who attend the matches and training of their children.
With regards to reaching people who are blind, the organization should use audio channels such
as radio. The use of radio expands the reach of the organization to numerous people, including
the blind, in the city.
When targeting mothers who are vegan, the company can reach them via television media
messages especially when healthy food-related shows are on-going. People who are more
sensitive to their health are more likely to watch health-related television shows. The television
platform provides wide coverage, and the intended media message may reach a majority of
vegan mothers across the city. Television advertisements may also be used to reach people who
are interested in improvisation. This is due to the different kinds of people that watch the
television and its wide coverage. Concerning reaching dog owners, the organization may target
dog parks in creating awareness on its product, service or program. This targeted approach is
aimed at reaching to dog owners who visit dog parks. Many dog owners in the city walk their
dogs in the dog parks across the city hence it may be an effective approach.

In our particular team, the team leader was XXXX (Name of the leader). As a team, we
decided to choose our leader via voting. All the team members who wanted to be the team leader
were asked to express their interest in the leadership position. Each of the candidates was then
requested to deliver a short speech indicating why he/she considered himself/herself the best
choice to be the group's leader. Later each member was asked to vote for his/her candidate based
