A Testimony Critique in a Performance Oversight Committee
Introduction
The hearing that I attended was of the Committee of Finance and Revenue, Public
Round Table on Spanish Education Development Center Revenue Bonds Project Approval
Resolution of 2018 that was held by Jack Evans, who is the chairperson of the council. The
hearing took place on Wednesday, February 21, 2018. I chose this hearing since it touches
some of my areas of interests like finance and revenue allocation on issues that affect our
society. This testimony critique paper will highlight levels of effectiveness in Raymond
Ritchey’s testimony to the legislative committee, the goal of his testimony, the integrity
conveyed, and the provision of a written statement. Raymond Ritchey is the president of the
board of directors of the Spanish Education Development Center.
The Hearing Environment
The performance and revenue oversight hearing was conducted within the Council of
the District of Columbia, and it took place in the afternoon from 12:05 PM. The oversight
hearing concerned the issuance and delivery of a permittable amount that does not exceed
$4,820,000 to assist for the Spanish Education Development Center courses associated with
authorized projects. The meeting was presided by the chairman and another
council/committee member. The interior décor of John-William building where the hearing
was held is composed of a dazzling selection of some beautiful furniture. The interior décor
and furniture arrangement makes it easier for everyone to communicate effectively as well as
