DAP Early Childhood Activity
Selected Age Group:
Create one activity that is developmentally appropriate for your selected age group. The activity
needs to meet all the developmental PILES (Physical, Intellectual, Language, Emotional, and
Social) and be supported by theory. Describe how to implement the activity and analyze the
activity by answering the following:
1. Name of activity: child direct Art/ Painting activities
2. Goals (What do you want children to learn? Identify at least 3 objectives for this
activity – this speaks to being an intentional educator.)
Art is much more than a simple activity and it helps children express themselves in their
own unique and simple ways.
Through the art children will able to use their different senses where they will be able to
explore different processes and their outcomes, express their emotions, create exciting
experiences and aesthetically pleasing works and they will also be able to explore color
(Groark, Christina 47).
