They are, however, expected to integrate their training and work together after graduation. Identify the advantages and disadvantages of this approach to professional education in terms of costs, educational efficiency, and patient care quality.
  2. An oversupply of physicians in many urban regions contrasts with continuing problems of access in rural and inner-city areas. Why does the mal-distribution of physicians persist in spite of the number of physicians graduated?
  3. The health care delivery system now places increased emphasis on maintaining wellness and on promoting disease avoidance through healthy behaviors and lifestyles. What challenges does this new orientation pose for our existing system of medical education and training?

Overlap in Curricula and Training Requirements
The American healthcare system has been a major debate over time. The cost of healthcare,
poor outcome and the shortage of healthcare workers has been discussed over a long period. Other
factors that have been of concern include the lack of access to healthcare services, the
underutilization of healthcare workers, the convenience and quality of the health services, the
affordability of the personal care and the growing consumer demands for healthcare services
(Pedduzzi et al., 2013) .The United State spends more resources than any other developed country
but its motility rate and life expectancy rates remaining a major concern relative to most of the
developed countries.
The possibility of overlapping in the training requirements of the healthcare professionals
would lead to both advantages and disadvantages. The entire team in the healthcare services
including the nurses, physicians, and the support staff work with a common and ultimate goal of
delivering quality services to the patients (Pedduzzi et al., 2013). Most of these staff have been
trained on teamwork, which has facilitated them in developing essential skills for working with
other professionals in the healthcare system. These staffs have establish the capabilities of
analyzing outcomes and improving the delivery of services through the utilization of individual
skills of each of the healthcare worker. The value of teamwork, however, need to be incorporated
in medical training through the development of special curriculum. The overlapping and
integration of training would not only be beneficial to the students but also to the entire healthcare
system, where there will be a corporation between the physician assistant, medical students and
nurses through taking some common classes. The quality of patient care will improve due to the
