I agree with the statement that ‘human activity, especially the burning of fossil fuels, is a major
contributor to climate change.’ There are numerous reasons and data evidence that makes me
agree with the above statement. To begin with, there has been research and theory by a lot of
scientists who believe that the main causes of the current global warming is from the greenhouse
effects. The greenhouse effect is caused by the heat which is tapped when the atmosphere traps
heat that is radiating from the earth towards the space (Lubbers, et al. 2013). There are various
gases in the atmosphere that blocks the heat from escaping. These gases have however been
affected by the fossil fuels that are being burned forcing them to allow the heat to escape. Some
of the gases that contribute to greenhouse effects include; water vapor, nitrous oxide, carbon
dioxide, and methane.
The greenhouse gases have the tendency of trapping the heat and making the planet
