1)One technology that I had heard of but not observed was the 3D printed tactile models. I thought these were extremely cool. I did not expect them to be as detailed as they were and I did not realize all of the effort that goes in to designing the digital model. These printed models are a great idea to help the blind visualize what the shape of something is and how something may look.
2)As for technologies that were completely new to me, the most interesting for me was the embosser. It had never crossed my mind that a printer could even print in braille. As far as being impressed, I was amazed that the creator of this machine even made it so that repairs were accessible to the blind. With that in mind it was very well proven that independence is a key aspect when dealing with the blind.
