Pneumonia
The infectious disease that I decided to settle on is Pneumonia which can be caused by
fungi, bacteria or viruses. The Bacterial one is the most common among the adults. The disease
causes the inflammation of the alveoli. The fluid and pus in the air as commonly known as
alveoli make the individual infected difficult to breathe. In the world is known as the winter
fever. In the mid of 1870s, this is when the diseased was discovered by German Pathologist who
observed it through the microscope later in the 19th century the two common bacterial causes
were found. Several ways were introduced to counter the disease in the early twentieth century.
The infection rate was high around the world, and the condition had caused an increase in the
mortality rate.
Antibiotics were developed such as penicillin which was the perfect medicine that
facilitated the reduction of the death rate of individuals that are affected by the disease around
the world. THz infection is a severe problem, but antibiotics have reduced the mortality rate of
the individuals affected by this disease. The disease is mainly viral and bacterial. The most
common variant is the bacteria which is known as Streptococcus pneumonia. There exist other
options for pneumonia that cues mild infections such as the walking Pneumonia. The pulmonary
infection might be very series for those with the weak immune system and the aged. The disease
can be contracted in any place since it is contracted by breathing in infected airspace released by
an individual who is suffering the same illness.
There are several ways to prevent the disease from spreading and killing. The most
common is by receiving a pneumonia vaccine. These are of vaccination is administered in the
body system earlier. Hence there are two different types of vaccines that are used the first
prevents close to thirteen different types of pneumococcal bacterial known as the PCV13. The
second one prevents from the additional twenty-three strains. The pneumonia symptoms are
mild, and the most common is a cough which produces phlegm, fever, sweating, chills, shortness
of breath, and chest pain. Other symptoms may vary according to how severe the infection is the
age and health of the individual. Their signs by a cause such as viral pneumonia entail high fever
between twelve hours and thirty-six hours. The other poster of viral pneumonia also includes flulike symptoms. The second symptom cause is Bacterial pneumonia involves bluish lips and
profuse sweating. Some others symptoms are categorized with age such as children below five
years may be fast breathing. The aged may have a lower temperature than the average
temperature required. As for infants they may vomit and be experiencing trouble eating and
drinking which later causes to weakness hence they lack energy (...
