Over a long period of time, Africans were subjected to slavery by the European nations.
Slavery in Africa, however, took different forms among them being; chattery slavery, debt
bondage, forced labor, and serfdom. Both men and women were subjected to harsh conditions
during and after being taken into slavery where most died due to harsh conditions. Slavery was
the hell for African men, but it was far worse for women because slave girls were tortured not
only physically but also mentally. The mental suffers included sexual abuse and motherhood.
Sexual Abuse by her Master
It was a fact of slavery that women were sexually oppressed and abused by their masters
in Africa. In comparison to men, women were most sexually exploited by their masters
sometimes even at the expense of their husbands. Female slavery in most cases would be
exploited by their masters in a sexual manner and since they had no option of refusing they
would give into their masters' demands. Such scenarios were tormenting and hard for the female
slaves to bear. African female slaves didn’t have the choice to choose who to love; instead, they
would be dragged around by their masters and be abused sexually, whenever the masters felt like
it. Sexual abuse and oppression were just but among the few horrors that slavery presented.
Sexually violence was evident during the slavery era. Most female slaves had no control over
who to love, instead, they would be forced to love their masters no matter the situation. Just like
