There is a lot of hype in the world today concerning big data and artificial intelligence.
Increased emphasis is being placed on the use of artificial intelligence to solve complex
analytical problems that human beings could do, but artificial intelligence makes the process
more efficient. The result of the adoption of artificial intelligence is that they replace human
beings in the role they previously held and solve problems faster. Example of artificial
intelligence is the application of Siri, a mobile-based intelligence application that responds to
people and offers solutions. Recently, there is a continued advancement in the form of artificial
intelligence in robots who possess massive amounts of data that they use in solving problems in
companies. IBM' s computation machine, Watson can now diagnose lung cancer based on the
extensive data installed in the software by the company. Besides, it has recently reached the
knowledge level of a second-year graduate student in the medical field. This progress was made
possible by the massive amounts of data and the demand for data today (Gandomi & Haider,
2015). These are but a few examples of artificial intelligence and their application of big data.
However, security challenges arise in the use of big data for example the use of cloud
infrastructure that provides a threat to the whole system.
Big data is the massive data that is collected for example from us by the companies and
government alike for use in decision- making in areas such as improving the economy, solving a
crime, in the medical field to offer medical solutions, and in mitigation of disasters. Big data is
collected from the web, census, cell towers and social media. Transactional information also
forms part of big data that is always in an unstructured format. They are collected from the
various sources, clumped together and provided to the artificial intelligence for sophisticated
analytics. The data form part of learning the building blocks for an algorithm. Stock market
