Marketing is what an organization does with a mission of winning more customers and
maintaining a good relationship with them. In maintaining a perfect relationship with their
customers, businesses do things such as returning calls promptly, writing thank you letters to the
customers or even playing golf with their clients. Matching the organization’s services as well as
products to the consumers who require them is the main objective of marketing and in the
process it ensures profitability (Melewar and Dennis 209).
Marketing has its four P's and the first one is product. Product is the item or list of items
that are sold by companies or are intended to be sold. The questions that should be asked when
assessing a product includes; what really sets aside the said product from its competitors?
Whether the product can be marketed alongside a secondary product? Does the market have
substitute products?
The second marketing P is Price. This relates to how much the product will cost. During
the examination of the price of a commodity, the marketing costs, distribution expenses as well
as the unit cost price need to be considered.
