Abstract
This paper addresses antisocial personality behaviors among individuals in a community,
substance abuse, addiction or possibly violence surrounding this individuals, the attempted
interventions that may have been employed to counter the predicament as well as cognitive
patterns that may be present in people with similar issues and finally nursing interventions that
may be used to help such a person cope with other members in the community.
Introduction
Antisocial behavior can also be termed as sociopathy. It is a term used to refer to people
with a mental condition that does not allow for them to show remorse for something they did
wrong or show no concern whatsoever when they do something right as well. This particular
individual does not consider other people’s feelings or rights in the actions he undertakes and to
some extent his behavior may also be termed as egocentric. In most cases one will find this
particular affected person antagonizing or possibly manipulating others by use of force, violence
or otherwise to get whatever he or she wants. A person falling under this category may be prone
to violating laws and regulations and are mapped and flagged as criminals often engaging in
criminal activities. Quite possibly such a person might even lie to get away with something,
engage in violent and impulsive acts, abuse drugs and alcohol or anything else that may allow for
them to feel like they are comfortable and have attained whatever goals they had for themselves
(Meloy, & Yakeley, 2011).
