Data mining has continued to be an interdisciplinary field that is emerging and has created an
effective way of extracting information from a data set that exist and translates the knowledge
gained for end users in a way that is easy to understand. Six Sigma, on the other hand, has been
identified as an approach used in different industries for solving problems and is usually
supported by a variety of powerful statistical tools that are meant for reducing variation in a
continuous process improvement. In addition, data mining has been widely used in discovering
unknown knowledge from a large data volume by use of different techniques such as neural
network, regression analysis, among others. Mainly, data mining aims at data processing and
pattern identification and the different trends that are found in the information, in order to decide
or judge. Data mining techniques have existed for many years, but due to the advent of big data,
it has become more prevalent (Delen, 2015). Six Sigma is considered as a data-driven approach.
In comparing it with other methodologies, it is has been considered to behave in a certain way.
Popularity of CRISP-DM
Cross-Industry process for data mining (CRISO-DM) is a methodology that enhances a
structured approach during the planning of data mining project. This is model is considered as an
idealized flow of events, and the different tasks that are performed are carried in a different order
and it is always important to repeat the different tasks and actions. Different stages have been
created in this model, for the effectiveness of data analysis. One of the major stages of this
process is to note what needs to be accomplished from a business perspective. In considering this
stage, the objectives and constraints should be balanced (Delen, 2015). The aim of this stage is to
