Assignment #1: PAIRS - Reflection Journal Reflection Journal As we dive deeper into class discussions, you will begin to see how the concepts that we are learning about apply to you personally, and how these concepts can help you to achieve your true potential as students and as future business leaders. The ability to find time and space to make these concepts our own has become a lost art in our fast paced world. It is through reflection that we are able to shape meaning and gain a true understanding of our learning. Accordingly, you, as the learner, will have the opportunity to reflect on your learning with a partner and complete one reflection journal half-way through the course. Instructions: Section A: CONCEPT REVIEW Working with a partner, choose any ONE concept that we have learned about so far (in the lectures, through class discussions, etc.) from Weeks 1 to 6 that was an "ah-ha" moment for both of you (something that you both found truly interesting or intriguing). Example Concepts: Human Rights Legislation, Organizational Culture, the Interview Process, Recruiting Strategies, etc. Explain this concept in your words (half page). *It is important that you review the concept and then write it down in your own words so that you can demonstrate to your Professor that you truly understand the material. Do not simply regurgitate the concept straight out of the textbook and do not simply copy and paste from other websites. Many of the issues we have discussed in class are applicable in many cases I have
experienced as a trainee for management. The one that wowed me was the interview process. I
learned that interviews are really important because they allow an employer to select the persons
who can do the job the best. This concept we learned in class is really important because it
allows people to be selected fairly because when you are selecting employees, there is a need to
