Running head: CLIMATOLOGY
Human Activities and Climate Change
Human activity, especially burning of fossil fuels, is the major contributor to climatic
change. Human activities on earth are changing the natural greenhouse gases. The natural
greenhouse gases regulate the degree of heat reaching the land and water bodies and absorb heat
to balance the amount of heat escaping the earth surface. If all the heat from the sun disappeared
into space, the earth would be too cold to support life. The greenhouse gases comprise water, water
vapor, carbon dioxide and methane. However, greenhouse gases from human activities concentrate
the natural greenhouse gases overloading them and making it difficult to balance the atmosphere.
The resulting effect is global warming and climatic change. One of the major human activity that
has greatly contributed to climatic change is the combustion of fossil fuels such as coal and oil.
This paper discusses how the burning of fossil fuels by human beings has majorly contributed to
the climatic change.
Over the last two centuries, the world has undergone various transformations, especially in
the industrial sec...
