The main purpose of performing the experiment was to determine the total settleable solids in a
given water sample. Settleable matter here refers to the residues obtained from water sample.
Generally, residues are referred as solid-matter dissolved or suspended in clean or waste water.
Water with high residue content is considered unsuitable for human consumption. Alternatively,
total solid is a term used to refer to the substances left behind after water has been evaporated or
filtered. Residues are normally dried at high temperatures to make them water free. Generally,
