Technology has changed man’s life Poonam Khadka ENG 1301 Technology has changed man’s life Technology is a fantastic resource that improved efficiency in life and gave it a brandnew meaning. Due to the many inventions, the quality of life has been improved despite the ethical and moral issues raised concerning the place of technology. All in all, the changes witnessed in man’s life about technology reveal that the vitality of the internet is imperative, and life would not have had much meaning without it. Niti Chopra’s ‘Who is contingent on whom? The internet in society or the society on the internet?’ Proved very important in tackling the topic hence the reason it was chosen first. Unlike the other sources used, it emphasizes both social and professional life of a man concerning technology. Niti Chopra (2018) is an exemplary author who highlights how the distribution and utilization of technology have entirely revolutionized activities on the planet. Basing the argument on the vitality of technology especially on journalism and communication, the author explains that without technology or the help accorded to man by the internet, the present successes in the professional and social life of people would not have been achieved. This means that the internet has changed the fabric of society and created its kind which according to research is resilient and adaptive. The relevance of technology in people’s lives cannot be overlooked either can people claim that the erosion of culture and morals are as a result of technology. Instead, there should be an embrace for the unbelievable things the internet has made possible (Chopra, 2018). Sara Kiesler reiterates the issues raised by Chopra by stating that the internet has touched the imagination of people everywhere and this is the reason the continued innovation and success in the fields of science, literature, history, and technology itself. Moreover, the author summarizes the benefits of technology in business and the corporate world where talk shows help to shape the new stock markets and business acumen. The perspective currently used to understand technology has been messed not with the technology itself but with the corruptible mind of man. This means that technology has no harm unless when misused. A study of the human side of the impacts of technology shows that there are more positives than negatives. Having understood the concepts by Kiesler, it is more evident that technology is indeed a useful resource. Dimitrova et al., (2014) explain the importance of technology in enhancing political participation and knowledge. Politics is an aspect of growth that humanity cannot overlook. The essential of making decisions on the right leaders have been made easier by the use of technology. Having read and understood different research in the field of technology and its impact on human life, it is clear that life would not have had much meaning without technology. If technology is removed from the equation and causative factors of human fulfillment, something would have been amiss. This points to the need to integrate technology and to make good use of it to gain these benefits. In conclusion, technology holds a significant place in the life of man. For years it has been used to improve the quality of life. Various innovations have been done in multiple fields, and this has ensured that man’s knowledge is enhanced. The research by various authors only points to the positive values that can be derived from technology. With this, some gaps need further research for instance ways on how to ensure that technology only improves life and not derail it. References Chopra, N. (2018). Who is contingent on whom?
