Outsourcing IT functions is the practice of contracting resources outside of the
organization to handle specific information technology tasks such as data storage. The most
commonly outsourced IT functions are technical support, web development, infrastructure,
telecommunications and software & database development among other functions. Employing an
external company to handle tasks that are normally executed in-house is a concept that has
become popular in the last decade since many firms have realized its benefits. In every
organization, an efficiently functioning information system needs proper maintenance and
efficient IT administration to perform the daily tasks efficiently. For a firm that has limited
resources, subcontracting an expert to manage information Technology functions is an easy way
to meet the firms' goals and objectives (Blecker & Aldarrat, 2007).
Today, relying on an outsourced company to manage the firm's most important
information and IT processes is a risky and complicated process the reason why many
