Although every situation encountered has its own unique requirements in order to successfully support the operation, there are basic actions taken pre-, intra- and post that should be followed. Incorporate what you have learned in policy, practice and possibly personal experience and develop an operational (tactical) plan- focused on logistics support- to ensure that disaster operations go smoothly. The goal of your paper should not to create the “perfect solution”; more it should be an examination/analysis of the situation at hand, and your role as a disaster logistician to assist the Incident Commander in supporting emergency operations.

Introduction
The emergence of the unknown virus in the town is a health hazard; therefore, it is
necessary for precautionary measures to be taken in order to curb its spread. The logistics team is
in charge of the distribution of the drugs and medical equipment required to control the further
spread of the virus. The government and health officials have chosen the containment method
which includes isolation and quarantine to prevent the outbreak from spreading further.
Notably, the case is similar to that of the emergence of the Ebola virus in West and
Central Africa. The virus was highly communicable, consequently, a lot of precautionary
measures were to be taken especially by the United Nations and Medicine San Frontiers in the
transportation of the personnel, drugs, and food to the affected victims. The teams really faced an
enormous task that they struggled to cope with. Therefore, the scenarios are similar though the
spread of Ebola Virus involved many countries and it affected many people. The logistics team is
therefore tasked to develop an amicable logistics plan that would enable the town to control and
wipe out the virus completely.
Scope of the Work
Accordingly, it is important for the logistics chief to come up with the strategies that
would aid in the control of the spread of the virus without endangering the lives of other people
who are vulnerable since it is communicable. The strategy must conform to the government and
health officials’ decision to implement the community containment policy to control the scourge
affecting the 10000 community residents. Therefore, the task is difficult to overcome but it is
attainable.

Particularly, the logistics chief is mandated to facilitate the transfer of health equipment
and development of a logistics plan that would enable the eradication and containment of the
virus. Besides, the chief logistics officer must recommend command policies for the purpose of
collecting and disposing property that is in excess and security. He or is supposed to coordinate
the installation and construction of facilities as well as field sanitation. It is also the duty of the
chief logistics officer to coordinate the handling and disposal of hazardous material.
Therefore, the strategies below would enhance the eradication of the virus;
The setting of a logistics Plan
The plan highlights the methods in which my team would choose to combat the scourge
from infecting other persons. The team would establish a response plan in which it will tackle
any new infections without creating loopholes that will expose the vulnerability of the uninfected
community members.
The strategy will involve the setting up of a base that would act as the center of the
dissemination of the food relief and medical supplies to the infected people. The movement of
the affected persons is prohibited therefore it is paramount for them to be issued with the
necessary materials necessary for them to recover. The hub will link with trusted travel
companies who are certified and use necessary protective clothing to prevent their infections.
Moreover, the personnel has to be tested whenever they are going into the area as well when
moving out to ensure that they have a clean bill of health (Geisler, 2015).The logistics team will
collaborate with other stakeholders especially the health officials to review the challenge.

Furthermore, the hub will link up with other sub-hubs in the affected areas; therefore, it
will lead to the steady flow of the medical supplies and equipment. The sub-hubs will act as
