Are Omega 3’s really good for me?

When it comes to fat, there's one type you don’t want to cut back on: omega-3 fatty acids. Two crucial ones -- EPA and DHA -- are primarily found in certain fish. ALA (alpha-linolenic acid), another omega-3 fatty acid, is found in plant sources such as nuts and seeds. Not only does your body need these fatty acids to function, but also they deliver some big health benefits.

Omega 3 helps to lower incidences of stroke and heart diseases. It is possible
because the fatty acids lower the heart rate, improves blood vessel functionality and
decreases the blood pressure.



The fatty acid also helps reduce cases of disease contraction. Omega 3 can be used
as an anti-inflammatory for conditions such as diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis. It
helps reduce diabetes by shielding the hippocampus cells from destruction.



Omega 3 helps prevent blood clots by ensuring the platelets do not clump together



The fatty acids also lower the cholesterol levels in the body by ensuring the HDL
to LDL ratio stays close to 2:1.



Omega 3 helps the body fight against depression and anxiety or other mental related
concerns.
