July 28, 1914 is when World War One started and the war ended on November 11, 1918.
Gavrilo Princip, a Bosnia revolutionary, assassinated Franz Ferdinand, an Austrian archduke,
and his wife, leading to the start of the war. As a result of the assassination, a local war
between Serbia and Austria-Hungary arose. The domestic conflict then escalated into a
worldwide war that saw different countries form alliances and fight against their opponents.
Great Britain, Russia, Italy, Romania, Japan, America and France battled against AustriaHungary, Bulgaria, Germany and Ottoman Empire. World War 1 saw over 16 million people,
both soldiers, and civilians, dead. A large number of deaths was due to using of new military
technology in the war by the 32 countries that were involved. World War one had various
