Running head: USING TECHNOLOGY TO UNDERSTAND THE HUMAN BRAIN

Introduction
The human brain is one of the most complicated, yet important organs of the human
body. Studying the brain deems complicated due to the fact that it contains multiple cells tasked
with the responsibility of acquiring, perceiving, processing and sometimes even storing
information both within the internal environment and external environment of the human body
(Brenner and Sejnowski, 2011). It also contains millions of neurons which are tasked with
transmitting impulses (signals) between the brain and target organs. It is quite evident that the
human brain is a very complicated organ. It is much complicated, in that, its study has never
been ‘completed’ like other simpler organs of the body. The journey of understanding the human
brain is not over, and it is very unlikely that this thirst of understanding how exactly the human
brain works will ever be quenched (Brenner and Sejnowski, 2011).
It is important because the brain is central to human existence. Not only does it
coordinate almost all processes in the body, it is responsible for understanding, learning,
personality and emotion. As such, it is not only cognitive psychologists that are concerned with
how the brain works; educators, engineers, psychologists, economists, biologists,...
