Description

Several tests were done to diagnose two patients (who have liver diseases), and I needed to write a lab report about them. Everything is illustrated in the guidelines file (what needs to be written, word counts, marking proforma..). The results section is already done and you can find the results in the result file ( Basically, patient one has high bilirubin, and all other liver results are normal. Patient two has high aspartate transaminase and slightly high bilirubin and all other liver results are good). So kindly if you can do other sections (aim, discussion, conclusion, and reference sections) please. We need to stick to word counts and also we need to use very academic sources and use the Harvard system to reference them. Thank you that's all.

TOTAL WORD COUNT - 800 WORDS (excluding references and figures) +/-10% Please ensure you follow the format below for your Liver function practical write-up: AIM, RESULTS, DISCUSSION, CONCLUSION & REFERENCES Aim (max 50 words) state the word count A brief and concise aim outlining the purpose of the practical and write-up. Results • • • • • All results should be presented i.e., Standards and Patient results Use clearly labelled tables and figures Make your calculations clear, providing at least one example Include the table of additional tests given to you – you can modify this if you like Use the reference ranges provided on the practical sheet to interpret your results **Titles & Legends do not count as part of your word count, however, if excessive in length the word count will be taken into consideration and penalties applied, if necessary** Discussion (max 700 words) state the word count • • • • Discuss all results obtained for each patient Decide which patient has which condition and provide a rationale for reaching this conclusion If appropriate, propose appropriate additional testing This section should be fully referenced. Conclusion (max 50 words) state your word count Briefly sum up your findings in relation to patient 1 and 2. References • • • • Use Harvard style referencing Relevant reference sources must be used i.e., journals, books etc. Avoid using websites and sources aimed at the general/lay public. Do not use Wikipedia and other sites where information is not reviewed/checked. Outline
1. Title
Investigation of Liver Functions and Diseases
2.Aim
Aim of the study is to understand liver conditions of patients by analyzing various biochemical
markers, aiding in diagnosis and potential treatment strategies.
3. Procedure
Bilirubin and Alkaline Phosphatase:
4. Results
Tests were done to determine the result of bilirubin for both patients and the absorbance was
measured at 600 nm results were as follows.
Tests were done to determine the result of alkaline phosphatase for both patients and the
absorbance was measured at 520 nm.
5. Discussion
Laboratory results gives important information about the liver function of the two patients, and
the liver analysis of the findings gives an elaborate understanding of their health status.
