In a scale of 1 to 4, I would give the team a rating of 3. This is because I can relate to
both positives and negatives that exist in my team, even though the former outweighs the
latter. Some of the team’s strengths include having clearly defined goals, very competent and
results driven members and team spirit. The weaknesses include interpersonal conflicts and
concentrating more on individual goals other than the team’s objective. There are many
issues that need to be addressed and this makes me feel that the group is only 80% towards
successfully reaching its goals. To improve effectiveness, the team needs motivation either
through individual recognition and re-evaluation of both individual and team goals. Sorting
out interpersonal conflicts and probably a team building exercise where everyone will be
required to participate in setting goals and objectives of the team can also be a great remedy.
