ECCO’S History, Development, And Growth
ECCO was founded by Karl Toosbuy in 1963 in Denmark, an inspiration brought about

by the harsh and open landscape of southern Jutland, presenting it (ECCO) as a company that
had a passion for ensuring pleasant walking. This vision has seen ECCO grow from a local
company to an international multi-billion dollar industry that is continuously expanding to
produce shows that are pleasant to walk with. The dedication to producing the world’s most
comfortable shoe, ECCO has a 40-year expertise in craftsmanship to uncompromised quality that
enabled it to invest in technology that ensures comfort to the ordinary customer. ECCO has

performance (Anderson et al., 2004). A combination of internal and external recruitment
stratagem has ensured that ECCO continues to remain at the forefront by ensuring a systemic
injection of ideas. More so, this has allowed the company to restructure its model when and if
necessary, as a way of ensuring that they have the latest technology and a firm grasp of the
market. As a result, ECCO has been able to remain at the forefront, producing quality and
comfortable footwear that is essential to its customer base.

continued and improved performance. ECCO management understands that to keep being useful
and at the forefront, it must have the right people to drive such an agenda. Therefore, ECCO has
given priority to the education and training of its employees to ensure and guarantee that they
possess an international mindset that is supported by adaptable skills to provide for its broad
market needs. The investment made by the company on its employee's training and education has
allowed it, as an entity, to be able to improve its metrics of production continually. It has also
ensured that its employees contribute, through their...
