The Student Green Energy Fund (SGEF) was established in 2011. The purpose of this program was to move toward a reduction and eventual elimination of greenhouse gas emissions on the USF Tampa campus. The SGEF is funded through the Student Green Energy Fee, which is a portion of the student fees that are paid each semester. The fee is voted on by the student body so is not permanent, but overall, has received support by USF students since its inception.
