Description

Presenting to a management team, client, or work group is a skill that professionals need to master. Multimedia presentations are the norm today. For this SLP 4 assignment:

  • Research duty ethics using articles primarily from the Trident Online Library’s full-text databases (such as Academic Search Complete, Business Source Complete, and/or ProQuest Central).
  • Provide a background and applications to a chosen organization that will be the audience for this presentation.

PowerPoint Presentation

  • Create a professional PowerPoint presentation. You will be assessed on the design of the presentation (including colors, backgrounds, professionalism, font, graphics). Optional content: Sound, videos, animation.
  • Wording on the slides should be bullet points or short overviews of what you will discuss when each slide is shown. You want your audience to pay attention to you and not read along on the slide.

Presentation Script

  • Create a script to accompany the presentation. It should be persuasive and targeted to the group chosen for this presentation. It can be written in a conversational style but since you are engaging in research, be sure to cite in the script and add a reference list in APA format.

Duty Ethics

In the moral philosophical studies, deontology also known as deontological studies is an
ethical position that judges the goodness of an action based on rules. The term deontology is
made up of two parts. The first is duty which is a moral obligation to do something. The second
part is ethics which is the moral behavior that guide a person’s conduct. Ethics are moral
principles that govern the performance of an activity. They affect how people live their lives.
Ethics are mostly concerned with what is good for people and their society (Zamir & Medina,
2010).
Duty ethics is known as deontology, rule based ethics, obligation based ethics, or duty
based ethics. The goodness of an action is based on rules guiding such an action. These rules
bind a person to his or her duties. The sources of the rules are: religion, personal or cultural value
and rules inherent to the universe. Deontology is in its entirety concerned with what people do
and not the consequences of such actions. If a person does a bad action that consequently leads to
good consequences, then the person deserves an equal punishment for the bad action he has
committed (Zamir & Medina, 2010). On the hand, if a person performs a morally good action
that consequently leads to bad consequences then the person does not receive any punishment
because he did a right thing.
Some examples of where deontology applies include the relationship between an
employer and his or her employer. The two people enter a contract and agree on the good actions
and bad actions. The good actions are those that the employee is expected to do such as getting
to work on time and finishing all the work allocated. If the employee does a bad action like
failing to finish his or her allocated work because he was doing another thing like helping new
