• Valero Energy is an American international energy corporation that
specializes in the manufacturing, marketing and transportation of
fuels, power and petrochemical products. Its headquarter is located
in San Antonia, Texas, United States.
• The company was founded in 1980; about 38 years ago. It owns and
runs about 16 oil refineries within the United States, United
Kingdom, Caribbean and Canada.
• The refineries produces an approximate of 3 million barrens with a
capacity of about 480,000 m3 a day. In addition, the company
possesses about 11 plants of ethanol that produces about 1.2
million US gallons of ethanol in a year.

Valero’s Mission, Vision And Value

The vision statement of Valero points to being the most
prime manufacturer, distributer and marketer of high
quality transportation fuel and petrochemical products
that satisfies their consumers. The vision statement also
focuses on producing environmentally friendly products.
The mission statement of Valero focuses on the
commitment to delivering long-term values to its
employees, customers and investors through pursuing
value enhancing strategies that aim at world-class

The value statement of Valero is to provide their

Valero’s Current Status

Leadership: the Company is headed by a CEO, Joseph W. Gorder who also serves as
a partner of Valero Energy Partners. The CEO is assisted by other 22 executives
who assist the CEO to offer corporate governance to the corporation. The
executives enable the company to effectively oversee its refining operations
engineering projects and commercial operations.
Executive Members: the executive members are 23 in number including the Chief
Executive Officer.
Structure: the organizational structure of Valero presents with hierarchy in its
management with the CEO as the overall manager served with the power to
oversee all aspects of managerial decisions and proposals. The other junior coexecutives are also vested with some little power to make critical decision
concerning issues in the department in which they head.
Number of employees: as at the January 2018, Valero Energy Corporation had a
total of 10,018 employees.
