Identity self is developed at different stages from childhood, adolescent and adulthood.
Self-identity in middle childhood is marked by a great influence by relationships including
family members, teachers and most importantly peers. There is a low level of concern about
physical appearance, especially among boys. There is early onset of puberty which is associated
with low self-control. At adolescence, self-image is challenged by social comparisons. Youths
begin to establish their own identity separate from family members. With girls, fat impacts
physical appearance and self-concept negatively. Both genders are concerned with height, skin
