Understanding the Court System
Introduction
The United States court system consists of both state level and federal courts
(Burnham 14). Cases may be on a variety of topics, and their outcomes are unlimited. The
federal court system includes the judicial government. The courts decide on what happened
as well as what should be done about it. Also, they make decisions on whether a person
committed a particular crime and the punishment they deserve. They also provide a peaceful
way of resolving personal disputes that people find hard to resolve by themselves Depending
on the offense or dispute, some of the cases are handled by federal courts while others end up
in the state courts. The case that is being discussed in the paper is a criminal case of

and 2.35pm is when she was seen at power line walking (Kaplan et al. 11). The girl
exchanged some text messages with her classmate until 2.53pm when the last text was sent
from her phone, and on that day the girl never made it home.
According to the FBI reports the last known contact between the girl’s cell phone and the
cellular network was from a tower that is located on the west of Cranmore Mountain. After
nine months the girl reappeared, she told the police that her captor had released her. In
response to her information, Kibby was arrested. The subsequent trial revealed that Kibby
had imprisoned the girl in his home, in a container on his property. He has sexually assaulted
her repeatedly and tortured her the nine months she was held...
