Education policies
Introduction
The societal set up is mostly based on the quality of education offered to the children, and
how effective they apply in increasing the development of the community. Over the years, there
have been various problems which have been affecting the education some of which have not
been addressed efficiently. In addition, the local government of the area has failed in coming up
with adequate policies which can guarantee the well-being of the people in the learning
institutions. Most of the learning institutions lack the basic necessities, and also the effect can be
felt in the co-curricular activities. For the learning institutions to produce quality, and efficient
services adequate strategies have to be set in place to ensure that the performance of the students
increases. In this case, one of the policies which can be set in place is providing the schools with
adequate updated facilities, extended school days, introduction of a music curriculum, teachers,
and enough classes all of these elements covered by 20million US dollars. Another policy which
has to be set in place is increasing the funding for the poor performing schools so that they can
scheme ways through which they can improve their performance, and this will make use of
roughly $20 million. On the other hand, an example of a policy which should not be enacted is
the aspect of abolishing zoned schools, and also assigning all students to school bases on their

race, or ethnicity with the objective of ensuring schools are subdivided based on the demography
of New York city. The policy is set to be covered by close to $15 million. It is true that these
policies are set to address some of the major challenges in the community but there are various
merits, and demerits of implementing a given policy. Thus, this paper aims to carry out a
comprehensive examination of the importance of undertaking the two highlighted policies and
detesting the implementation of the policy which calls for enhancing school demographics.
