INTRODUCTION


MMPI-2-RF is the third MMPI version used for adults.



Function is to asses psychopathology, behavioral
proclivities and personality traits.



Originally designed for clinical and mental health
issues (Tellegen & Ben-Porath, 2011).



It is a protected psychological instrument.



Currently administered by computers.



Psychological testing preceded by a clinical interview
(Perry, Miller& Klump 2006). .

HISTORY OF MMPI-2-RF


MMPI-2 is the frequent psychological test.



Original MMPI was developed by the approach of
criterion key.



Eight diagnostic groups of test takers were statistically
analyzed (Tellegen & Ben-Porath, 2011).



The resulting scales were: Hypochondriasis, Depression,
Hysteria, Psychopathic Deviance, Paranoia,
Psychasthenia, Schizophrenia, and Hypomania.



Femininity and masculinity scale was later introduced.



The tenth scale was Social Introversion.



Replication of the diagnostic categories however
varied.

It was revised after decades of clinical use through a
restandardization project by the university of Minnesota
Press (Tellegen & Ben-Porath, 2011).



Revision mainly prompted by new norms.



Initial test based on Caucasian, rural, and working-class
sample.



MMPI-2 excluded tests referring to sexist or religious
beliefs verbiage and bowel or bladder functions.



MMPI-2 has 567 true-false questions.

Continuity was maintained between MMPI and MMPI2



Clinical issues psychometric problems still remained
troubling.



Heterogeneity was an arising issue (Tellegen & Ben-Porath,
2011).



RF was developed to improve psychometric properties.



Result was more refined and easier access to certain clinical
symptoms.



The central construct is demoralization.



Demoralization is an overarching mood dimension.



Finally, nine RC scales were developed: RC1, RC2, RC3, RC4,
