1. 1. 1 Business Practice Argumentative Essay.

2. 2. 2 Business Practice Argumentative Essay - Discussing a past business
situation where I versioned an opportunity to improve my former company’s
production time, reduce the wage bill and improve the level of supply, reason
for the decision, including a definition of “good” for the purposes of this
situation and how the use of critical thinking enhanced my promotion and
subsequently landed me a greater job. The Situation As a former engineer in
charge of plant operations at Denver Water Company of Chicago, I was
responsible for process improvement, cost saving measures and solutions for
the overall efficiency of the water plant and as well ensure clarification,
chlorination, disinfection of the water before distribution. The plant
management was made up of four commissioners appointed by the Governor of
Colorado, five cooperate lawyers, city inspectors, plant manager, plant engineer
and a hundred technicians .On a weekly basis we purified and distributed water
to a tune of 4 billion gallons (from the Dillon reservoirs) which was done by
the manual purifier with the aid of the 100 laborers. In addition, the plant was
also responsible of distributing purified water to the surrounding suburbs of
Colorado and this meant that the supply of 4 billion gallons was insufficient to
serve the 1.4 million population and consequently, the city would complain of
shortage of water and at times unclean water too. So I thought, deliberated and
rallied for a solution to make the water supply increased to match the ever
increasing population and as well reduce the number of workers (100
technicians) who at the time were costing Denver water plant a monthly wage
bill of 300million Dollars. I proposed that: (Premise 1) installation of an
electronic and computerized purification of water will improve the gallons
purified daily (Premise 2) Utilizing electronic and computerized machines
instead of the manual ones will reduce the number of workers and as well
reduce the wage bill (Premise 3) Transitioning to electronic document storage
would comply with the county health standards and rules.
3. 3. 3 In order to properly present these arguments to the management team,
some research had to be done on the manual purifier, which revealed that the
manual purifier was expensive to manage and sustain, it as well created a lot of
noise and pollution. I tabled to the committee the documentation of the number
of tones of petrol the manual purifier uses as compared to when we could have
been using an electr...
