The needlestick injuries are on the rise, affecting most of the nurses working in the
healthcare facilities. Needlestick injury results in wounds that expose one to infections (Health
Navigator, 2017). Essentially, the mitigation of such injuries for minimization of health hazards
to nurse and other affected is imperative. However, without conducting employee’s hazards
causing the increase of the needlestick injuries, the effort to mitigate their increase will be futile.
Employee’s hazard analyses are the way to go in ascertaining their causes in any given hospital
(Manuele, 2013).
